Dauðalagið
A triptych from the Greek adjective τρίπτυχον "triptukhon" is a work of art that is divided into three sections, or three carved panels that are hinged together and can be folded shut or displayed open.
When I was contacted by a collector to create a work that would also serve as a sound system, I immediately accepted the project.
I was free to conceive this gigantic original triptych, and it is quite naturally that I turned to the title of the group Sigur Rós. "Dauðalagið" was therefore the initial inspiration for this emotional landscape. It is also my first political work with the subtitle "The position of women in the patriarchy". It is either broken, locked up or even non-existent.
